Cookin' the Market - Program Sponsor

Network for a Healthy California

The Cookin' the Market program is proud to partner with the Network for a Healthy California, a statewide movement of local, state and national partners collectively working toward improving the health status of low-income Californians through increased fruit and vegetable consumption and daily physical activity.

The Mission of the Network for a Healthy California is to create innovative partnerships that empower low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity and food security with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet-related chronic diseases. Through funding from the Network for a Healthy California, the Cookin' the Market program has expanded its nutrition education efforts to Food Stamp and WIC offices in Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco counties. The goal of these events is to educate Food Stamp recipients about the benefits, preparation methods, and local availability of fresh fruits and vegetables in order to increase consumption of fruits and vegetables and contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
