Asparagus season is here at last.
This long-awaited harbinger of spring has arrived to enjoy through June. California leads the nation in asparagus production with more than 50,000 metric tons harvested annually. Most of this is marketed as fresh green asparagus. am, sauté, bake, or blanch - it's all terrific. Whether you like jumbo asparagus or the pencil-thin spears, purple, white, or green, the flavor of fresh spring asparagus is amazing. Get some while you can!

Everyone loves to receive a big bouquet of fresh cut flowers for Valentine's Day. Fragrant and colorful, they make a very special gift especially when they're fresh from the farmers' market.
