Asparagus season is here at last.
This long-awaited harbinger of spring has arrived to enjoy through June. California leads the nation in asparagus production with more than 50,000 metric tons harvested annually. Most of this is marketed as fresh green asparagus. am, sauté, bake, or blanch - it's all terrific. Whether you like jumbo asparagus or the pencil-thin spears, purple, white, or green, the flavor of fresh spring asparagus is amazing. Get some while you can!

Fresh Flowers for Valentine's Day
Everyone loves to receive a big bouquet of fresh cut flowers for Valentine's Day. Fragrant and colorful, they make a very special gift especially when they're fresh from the farmers' market. Seasonal bouquets of mixed flowers and greens, aromatic and vibrant roses, and even gorgeous orchids are available so talk to the grower and find out what's new and exciting this year!

The new year means resolutions and promises, so this year resolve to try some new and interesting fruits and vegetables. Every year there seems to be a new variety of hybrid fruits and vegetables available at the market. Producers are always trying to offer new and exciting products to tempt the taste buds.
